Youngsters at a Lichfield primary school are gearing up for their summer fair this weekend. Children at Whittington primary school are getting ready for some animal antics at this year’s PTA summer fair, to be held at the school in Common Lane, Whittington, on Sunday, July 12, from 2 – 4pm. Special guest will be Milton the Animal Man, while Year 6 pupils will be bidding to be Sir Alan Sugar’s apprentices of the future. The ten and 11-year-olds will be working in groups to sell their own handicrafts and other money-spinning ideas as part of a business studies challenge, with a prize for the team that makes the most cash during the afternoon. There will be all the usual stalls, refreshments, fun and games, bumper raffle, tombola, entertainment and many other attractions. Keeley Fathers, Whittington PTA chairwoman, said: “There promises to be fun for all the family at this year’s summer fair. “This time we are raising money towards the expansion and refurbishment of the school library, so we hope people will come along and enjoy themselves, whilst knowing they are supporting a very good cause.” |
