Bopara out, Wright in at Old Trafford

18:45, Sep 10 2012

England dropped Ravi Bopara for the second match of their NatWest International Twenty20 series at Old Trafford as captain Stuart Broad won the toss and elected to bowl.

The Essex batsman's position had been the subject of scrutiny after a series of low scores since his season was interrupted by unspecified personal problems in July. Bopara's place went to Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright while South Africa, who won the opener at the Emirates Durham ICG on Saturday, made two changes.

Hashim Amla took the place of Faf du Plessis at number three while paceman Morne Morkel replaced Lonwabo Tsotsobe.

The match was delayed by light rain just as the players were preparing for the first ball.
